Have you ever been deceived? The art of deception is a way of life for all of us because we are living in a fallen world. Our Adversary is going to use every trick and ploy to keep us from becoming true dedicated followers of Christ. Knowing that deceptions waited for his followers, Jesus himself told his disciples to be on guard against deceptions saying “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.” Matthew 10:16
In my experience the danger of deceptions isn’t how far from the truth it is, but rather how close to the truth it seems. A deception has to be believable in order to actually be a deception- an imposter posing as the truth while being a complete lie. To see the lesson from this week click the title above.

Who made you do it? Maybe you have heard people blame everything and everyone around them including the devil for what they have done. The devil made me do? Really? Well I do believe that our enemy is using the media- what we watch, read, listen to, and absorb with our senses- to impact us in a negitive way. Jesus was a master teacher and always used simple and basic word pictures to understand what he was saying. In Matthew he says dirty eyes and ears make the heart dirty. Do you have a dirty heart?

Building a godly life. Perhaps Nike says it best- "Just do it." When it comes building a godly life, you need to just do it. Become more like the person God wants you to be isn't going to just happen. It takes work and sweat to produce the desire results, but sadly not many Christ followers will put the time and energy into their relationship with God.
